Dine & Donate at Gus’s BBQ to Support the Claremont Courier’s “HELP KEEP LOCAL NEWS STRONG!” Campaign

CLAREMONT, Calif. — October 15, 2026 — The Claremont Courier invites the community to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting local journalism at a special Dine & Donate event on Tuesday, October 27, at Gus’s BBQ in Claremont. The event will run from opening to closing, giving community members plenty of opportunities to participate.

During the event, Gus’s BBQ will donate 15% of participating customers’ bills, including alcoholic beverages, to the Claremont Courier’s “HELP KEEP LOCAL NEWS STRONG!” fundraising campaign. Guests can enjoy their favorite meals while making a meaningful contribution to the future of independent, nonprofit community journalism.

The fundraiser supports the Claremont Courier’s mission to keep residents informed, connected and engaged with the communities they call home. For 118 years, the Courier has served the Claremont community, covering local government, education, business, arts, culture and the people and events that make the community unique.

“Local journalism is strongest when the community comes together to support it,” said Anna Hoy, General Manager of the Claremont Courier. “We are grateful to Gus’s BBQ for partnering with us and helping make this fundraiser possible. We invite everyone to bring their family and friends, enjoy a great meal and help keep local news strong.”

Community members are also welcome to make an additional donation beyond their meal to support the campaign. Every contribution helps sustain local reporting and preserve a trusted source of community news for future generations.
